# cancel_inference

Request cancellation of an in-flight inference launched with execute\_forge.  
Fire-and-forget: returns immediately after signaling the run to stop; poll get\_forge\_run for the  
eventual CANCELLED status. A run that already COMPLETED can no longer be canceled and errors with  
INFERENCE\_ALREADY\_COMPLETE; the other terminal states are idempotent no-ops.  
Pass the \`inference\_id\` that execute\_forge returned.
