Layer Update (Dec ‘24) - Wrapping up a year of growth 🎁

It’s been an amazing year for Layer. We’re incredibly humbled by the amount of studios using Layer every day to power their creations. Our goal has always been to make game development easier, faster, and more accessible - and we’re laser focused on that going into 2025.

As a quick recap, alongside a massive amount of updates to our core 2D functionality we’ve added a Realtime live canvas, 3D generations, new models like FLUX, copyright compliance with BRIA, enterprise data security features, and much much more.

We’re capping off the year with some big additions to our 3D generation tool, adding the popular Trellis 3D model, as well as Rodin 3D - joining our existing Tripo AI model. This is alongside updates for 2D generation, including new editing capabilities for FLUX, custom style support for our Realtime canvas, advanced settings, new image ratio options for all models, and more.

Looking Ahead 🔮

It’s always exciting going into a new year with endless possibilities, and we have BIG plans.

We’ve always approached Layer with the question: How do we make the production and scaling of games easier?

We know a big challenge for every game studio is jumping between tools to build all the pieces of a game, from 2D to 3D, to audio, to video, and more. It’s disruptive, hard to lock down into one workflow, and costs studios thousands of dollars in licensing fees.

Over the next year you will see us roll out major features designed to bring everything you need into a truly seamless workflow for all types of game media creation.  Our end goal being all you need to create a game is Layer + an engine like Unity, Unreal, etc.

Anyways, more on that later.

What we really wanted to end on is: Thank you. Our community is everything to us and we’re looking forward to another year helping bring your dreams to life. Things are only getting started.

See you soon.
