About Ace Games
Founded in 2020, Ace Games is an established mobile gaming studio based in Turkey, building awesome experiences for players worldwide.
Driven by their marquee title Fiona's Farm, Ace Games is dedicated to creating compelling and genre-leading games you just can’t put down. At the heart of this mission is a talented and passionate team, led by industry veterans that drive creativity and innovation across design and development.

Bigger Harvest, Same Quality
Anyone who’s had to maintain a popular live game like Fiona’s Farm knows the demand for new content is CONSTANT - everything from character art and cosmetics, to new level assets. Popularity comes at a price, and creating efficient in-house pipelines is more critical than ever to keep up with player demand.
As their game grew, Ace Games knew they needed a way to scale these production pipelines while making sure every new asset matched the game’s unique style. With regular content updates and new areas to design, they wanted a solution where their internal art teams could boost output without sacrificing quality.

That’s where Layer came in. By using FLUX, Layer’s most popular AI model, Ace Games trained custom styles based on Fiona’s Farm’s existing art. This let them generate game-ready assets faster while keeping everything visually consistent. Instead of spending hours manually sketching out every new asset, the team could quickly produce characters and backgrounds and then refine on top of those iterations.
But this wasn’t just about speed - it was about control. AI didn’t replace their artists; it became a powerful tool to speed up live service work schedules, free up time for creativity, and make the entire process just… easier.
At ACE Games, we place great importance on the art and design of our games. The art design of our game is more complex compared to general casual games. Thanks to the trained styles in Layer, we can quickly produce and implement assets for our seasonal and event-based content.

Creating Custom Styles with FLUX
Art consistency is everything in a game like Fiona’s Farm. Players are attached to the look and feel of Fiona’s little world, and even small inconsistencies can break immersion. Ace Games needed a way to generate assets quickly while keeping them perfectly in line with their existing style.
Enter FLUX, one of the most popular models available (and for good reason). Layer’s FLUX integration is set up for high-quality game asset generation, but the real spice is in custom styles.
Ace Games trained FLUX on their own game art, ensuring that every asset - whether a character or a background - felt like it belonged. With these custom styles in place, they could generate, refine, and iterate faster than ever, all while staying true to the game’s visual identity.
With Layer’s Flux.1 model, we were able to capture our game's style organically. During the ideation and style-finding phases of new game development, artists can train styles quickly, allowing us to determine a game’s style in just a week—a process that could otherwise take months.

Keeping Characters Consistent
Characters are the heart of Fiona’s Farm - it’s right in the name! Keeping consistency across different scenes and animations was a top priority. Ace Games trained two custom FLUX styles, one for Fiona and one for Jake, so that any AI-generated character assets would match the original designs exactly.

Scaling Up Background Production
Backgrounds in Fiona’s Farm are colorful and packed with detail, but creating new environments at scale can be time-consuming. To speed up the process, Ace Games trained a separate FLUX style just for backgrounds, making it easy to generate new locations that fit seamlessly into the game.

Creating Custom Styles with FLUX
Generating characters and backgrounds was just the first step - Ace Games still needed to blend everything into production-ready scenes. That’s where the Layer Canvas came in.
Once assets are generated in FLUX, the team brings them into Photoshop to start assembling compositions. Backgrounds and character positions are laid out, and the team then identifies areas that need refinement or upscaling.

Refining and Enhancing Game Scenes
In the Layer Canvas, the team could make small but critical adjustments - tweaking colors, adjusting proportions, and cleaning up details to fit the game’s style. They also used Canvas to expand backgrounds, ensuring that larger environments looked natural without needing to manually paint extra space.

For popular backgrounds, they took things even further. Some scenes required symbol expansions and silhouette testing, where they played with different lighting and contrast to make sure characters stood out properly. In some cases, they upscaled backgrounds or reworked details to ensure the final assets were crisp and polished before going into the game.
What I love most about Layer is how it supports our imagination while generating original ideas. When thinking about the style of a new design, Layer allows us to experiment with different styles. In the Canvas section, we can sometimes create final artworks without even needing Photoshop.
